My name is Amanda Schlaeppi Davis and I love teaching third grade!I graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington in 2011 with a degree in Elementary Education and in 2013 I earned my Masters in Elementary Education from UNCW. During my first two years of teaching I taught first grade at Pine Valley Elementary School in Wilmington, NC. I taught second grade for three years at Pactolus, and last year I taught third grade at Eastern Elementary. I am extremely excited to teach third grade again but at PACTOLUS and to work alongside my amazing third grade team members.
When I am not teaching, I spend my time at the beach, running, bike riding, cooking, boating, but most of the time I am having fun with my two-year-old Emma! I am fortunate to have a supportive and tight-knit family. My sister Caroline graduated from UNCW and is now at NCSU Vet School. My mother and father both work in the medical field, and my wonderful husband is in law enforcement. My family supports our classroom with supplies and tutoring hours to show their love for public education.
One of my biggest passions is traveling. Some of the places I have been include the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Nicaragua, Mexico, Rome, Paris, London, and Spain. I spent 6 weeks studying abroad in a small southern town called Ubeda, Spain. I enjoyed learning and living the Spanish culture and language. I hope to share some of my traveling experiences through my teaching.
