In our weekly classroom newsletter there will be a description of the homework expectations for the week. Remember, homework is NOT meant to be a burden or an "easy-breezy task." Please contact me if you have any concerns or questions about our homework.
Homework Activities Outline: READING Each week your child will be responsible for reading at least twenty minutes every night and either responding to their book/passage on the provided written prompt paper or answering multiple choice questions about their book/passage. Written responses should be thorough (at least 10 sentences) and legible. Multiple Choice questions should be proven in the text.
SPELLING & VOCABULARY Spelling will be completed as homework, but students will have ample time to practice in class as well. Students may practice their spelling words by choosing 3 activities out of the given activities. Closer to the end of the year we will also be testing on EOG vocabulary words. Please use neat handwriting and number your words.
MATH Math homework is usually one or two math worksheets involving the same concepts we covered in class. Math Facts are also an important part of homework since we will be having weekly math fact quizzes to ensure that students are fluent in basic math facts.
NO HOMEWORK Fridays: Students may enjoy the weekend and come back to school ready to learn!
